Dr Ibrahim Khaleel

Dr. Ibrahim Khaleel completed his medical graduation at Guntur Medical college, Guntur, India in 1989. He started his career in psychiatry in 1992 as a Senior House Officer at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman. He moved to London, UK in 1996 for a formal training in Psychiatry. He gained MRCPsych in 2000 and completed his higher specialist training at the University College London. He received dual accreditation in Working aged adults and older adults. He was appointed as a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist for Older Adults at the Oxleas NHS trust in 2007. He also completed MSc in Psychiatric research at the UCL, London. He received a clinical excellence award in 2008. He left the NHS in 2010 and founded Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Comprehensive Mental Helathcare in Guntur. Currently he is based in Guntur.

Dr. Khaleel’s passion for compassionate care and his holistic approach to mental health treatment has garnered him recognition and respect among his peers and patients alike. His lifetime ambition is to create a free comprehensive healthcare facility which works with regular small contributions from the local public. He hopes his model would be a replicable one and be adopted all over India in the coming decades.
